Contract 22-1: Plant Water System Replacement Project Designed by AECOM

SESD’s Plant Water System has been in use non-stop for more than 25 years and is in need of replacement. SESD worked with its Engineer to design a new energy efficient system, as well as a detailed construction method to install the new pumps even as the existing pumps had to stay operational.

SESD awarded a construction contract to Waterline Industries in August 2023. The pumps and other equipment have been ordered and are expected to be installed in Fall 2024. SESD received a $200,000 “Gap Energy Grant” from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to help fund the construction. The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.
